About
Eleanor works from her studio near the sea in the East Neuk of Fife in Scotland. She creates ceramics, paintings and prints.
Trained at Central Saint Martins, her background spans illustration and printmaking, though her practice is now rooted in clay, hand building and painting. Her paintings are loose and worked in watercolour, built from minimal line and a playful layering of colour. She is drawn to unpredictability in her work, both in process and surface, and that sense of the unexpected runs through everything she makes.
Alongside her studio work she creates community and collaborative projects, bringing people of all ages together through making. She has run workshops at the V&A Museum, Dundee Contemporary Arts and the National Portrait Gallery, among others.
Eleanor co-founded and art directed the Loop, a magazine for children that encouraged thinking and making in its readers, and went on to write Think and Make Like an Artist, published by Thames and Hudson.
